Justin, Martyr at Rome, ca.167
Almighty and everlasting God, through the folly of the cross You taught your martyr Justin the sublime wisdom of Jesus Christ: Grant that all who seek you may be found in you, and rejecting falsehood and deception loyal to the faith revealed to us in Jesus Christ, Your Son our Lord; who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
5The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
I have a goodly heritage.
7I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
8I keep the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
my body also rests secure.
10For you do not give me up to Sheol,
or let your faithful one see the Pit.
11You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures for evermore.
