Lord God, we were sinners but your grace has made us righteous, we were without hope but you have made us glad: Establish in us your saving work, preserve in us your gifts of grace, and grant courage and perseverance to all whom you have called and justified by faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
(From the Bergamo Sacramentary)
1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2 As smoke is blown away by the wind,
may you blow them away;
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.
4 Sing to God, sing praise to his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds —
his name is the LORD—
and rejoice before him.
